Handy, Divison of Janco Industries, Inc., was formed following the co-purchase of the Handy product line from Handy Industries, LLC in August of 2010. In late 2011, Janco became the sole owner of the Handy product line. Janco Industries, Inc., is a family-owned and operated business in Sully, Iowa, founded in 1993 by Ron Jansen and now owned by Joel and Deann Jansen.

Handy was originally Western Manufacturing, founded in Marshalltown, Iowa, in 1964. When the economic conditions required a closure of the business in 2010, Joel Jansen and a business acquaintance, Thomas Deimerly, saw an opportunity to turn a business, that was once a customer of both of them, around, in turn carrying on a tradition of manufacturing American-made products that are built to last a lifetime.

Today, the Handy product line is owned solely and manufactured in its entirety by Janco. The Handy product line includes motorcycle, ATV, and UTV lifts, shop equipment, and accessories. All fabrication of Handy products is done on state-of-the-art equipment at the company's 75,000-square foot manufacturing facility in Sully, Iowa.
